It was a bright autumn morning when we arrived at Statfold Barn. The site had ‘something for all the family’: rope slides, adventure play areas for the kids, a miniature ride-on railway, a fine collection of vintage buses and traction engines, and what we came for… an excellent collection of narrowgauge locomotives.

After the usual briefing, the 14 of us spread ourselves around the collection and got to work. The hours flew by, with the usual rush of ‘finishing touches’ as we
came together for the group ‘crit’.

David and Robert gave Clive some useful advice. We all felt it had been a great sketching day, a fantastic venue and we will no doubt be back again in the near future.
