The East Anglian Region artists made the journey to Audley End Airfield near Saffron Waldon and enjoyed a very productive day again at Vintage Fabrics.
This meeting was the last one with Phil Jackson GAvA acting as East Anglian Region Organiser. After many years of leading the region and service to the Guild, Phil is stepping down from the role and Amanda Norris is taking over.
After the crit session, Guild President Chris French presented some gifts to Phil. Chris praised Phil for his commitment and outstanding dedication to the East Anglian Region and the Guild in general. Phil is highly thought of by all of us in the East Anglian Region and we all look forward to seeing Phil at next year’s sketching days and learning from his expertise!
On the day we were lucky to meet the owner of the Sling 2TD airplane who reported the colours (orange, light blue and dark royal blue) are based on the 1970’s Gulf racing car colours. We also learnt that the Sling 2TD is from a South African company called Sling Aircrafts and were used in America as trainer.
