Annual
Plans are now into the final phases for the Guild’s Annual Exhibition at the Shuttleworth Collection, Old Warden from the 5th to 7th July. Our social media sites are presenting a wonderful build up to the event thanks in no small part to Paul Warrener – thank you Paul !
289 works were submitted for judging for the Exhibition and with a few final withdrawals, a total of 217 accepted works are being prepared for display.
Exhibiting artists will have received or will do soon, labels for the backs of their pictures. Along with these are a ticket for the Opening Preview on 5th July and a delivery ticket for the 4th.
Works will need to be delivered to The Shuttleworth Collection on Thursday 4th July between 11:00 and 14:00.
For those exhibiting artist delivering works on the 4th and able to stay and help hanging and setting up, many thanks! If any non exhibitors would also like to come along on the Friday or indeed help on Thursday, they would be most welcome. Please contact Martin Perman, Guild Administrator if you would like a ticket.
At the Exhibition opening day, Friday, artists and guests will have access to the Collection Hangars and Swiss Gardens as part of their official invitation ( donations to the museum welcomed though, as they are a charity and heavily depend on ticket sales).
On the Saturday and Sunday – tickets to the Collection will be sold as usual with no special arrangements for the Guild Exhibition (except for declared helpers ) so a ticket will be required to enter the Collection Hangars, Swiss Gardens and Exhibition .
Publicity for the event is well underway and includes:
• GAvA social media
• posters and flyers at the Collection itself
• poster advert in the June issue of RAeS Aerospace
• poster advert in the July issue of Flypast (which also has 3 articles on Shuttleworth)
