A dull day but certainly not a cold one greeted the almost 20 artists and guests who gathered at the Brooklands Museum ready for its 10am opening time.
This popular location presents the artist with quite a problem, albeit a nice one to have viz. having to choose subjects from the immensely varied collection of aircraft, cars, motorcycles, buses and assorted paraphernalia, both ancient and modern, and inside and out, not to mention historic buildings! After a brief welcome and introduction, we dispersed far and wide to sketch… or in some cases just to explore the panoply of the collection.
At 3.30pm we reassembled in an Activity Room upstairs at the historic Stratosphere Chamber for the customary critique. Former SE organiser Richard Wheatland helpfully led the critique.
Finishing around 4.30pm we came out to find bright sunshine, just in time for the trip home.
