The South East Region held its last meeting of 2023 on Saturday 18th November at the RAF Museum at Hendon. Several attendees, myself included, had been looking forward to the new interwar ‘Higher, Faster, Further’ gallery but unfortunately it doesn’t open until 4th December. Some of exhibits could be glimpsed through the barriers including the 1935 Westland Wallace which has been in storage for some years. Never mind – next time…

Eleven artists attended and, after a briefing in the Boardroom, dispersed to sketch the treasurers in the museum’s hangars.

The day concluded with the Chairman thanking Richard Wheatland for his seven years as organiser of the South East Region. Richard is standing down at the end of this year. Thank you Richard for all your work. I hope I can continue your good work.
