Tangmere is a popular venue for the South East Region with its impressive collection of artefacts telling the history of the RAF and RAF Tangmere in particular. There are a surprising number of complete airframes on both internal and external display providing excellent sketching opportunities.
Ten members of the Guild attended and received a warm welcome from the museum team. The weather forecast was good and several of us elected to paint and sketch outdoors – something I began to regret after several hours sitting in the bright sunshine!
Thanks to Jack Froelich who volunteers at the museum and helped organise the day. Guild member Paul Couper also volunteers at Tangmere and was much in evidence keeping an eye on us!
We ended the day with a review of the day’s work and a catch up on Guild matters. A very enjoyable day; sunshine, old aeroplanes and good company. What more could you ask for!
