Over twenty Midland members and guests attended this first meeting and ‘social’ in the region for 2025. It was a good turn out.

In the morning Graham Cooke gave an overview of the selection process for the Guild’s Annual Exhibitions including what the judges look for when making their selections.
David and Robert Calow provided valuable input regarding work brought to the meeting by attendees.

After a good lunch laid on by our hosts at The Buck & Bell, there was a chance to engage in some sketching using a simple selection of materials/equipment. This was a timed exercise to draw mainly items and people in the meeting room. David and Robert reviewed the works produced and offered their valuable comments and advice on them.

Tony’s sketch of the pub’s resident pet dog Barny was presented to the pub as a nice touch to end the day..

Thanks to Tony, Phil and the staff at The Buck & Bell for organising and running a great get together and start to the Midland Region New Year.
