Our first foray of 2026 saw a small but determined band of artists flying down to Old Sarum to create within the museum’s WW1 Belfast Trussed hangars. As ever, more happens than can be written here in the QN, so I’ll cut straight to the art itself.
As ever on a visit to my patch by the Guild, catching up takes priority at times, so a quick visit to the RFC display to sketch some mannequin heads clad in their peculiar flying helmets and goggles in pencil and limited gouache on Clairefontaine multimedia paper saved my blushes at the critique.
Before long it was time to adjourn to the Dark Revolution Tap Room housed nearby in an ex RFC stores shed for some extra-curricular refreshment, so to BDAC, our artists and one marathon runner, Cheers!
