Breighton Airfield, The Real Aeroplane Company, Saturday July 27th, 2024

The Real Aeroplane Club has always welcomed the Guild to their home airfield and today was no exception.

For the majority of us it was an opportunity to experience Breighton’s new clubhouse and café for the first time (it being a while since we visited for a meeting). I’ve been recently and was very impressed – today all agreed.

Along with the club’s own collection of aircraft, and those visiting we had a great selection to sketch. As it was the first NR meeting for a while, we were so pleased to gather again and catch up.

Although more of a social time we did get some sketching done. Rain in the forecast kept a number of promised visiting aircraft away, there was plenty going on. We enjoyed viewing aerobatics practice, especially one of the club’s Bücker Jungmann aircraft, then there was the Fairchild Argus and visiting aircraft etc.

Our time at Breighton all too soon came to a close – we must have enjoyed ourselves! It was so good to meet up after such a long time apart and to enjoy the company of like-minded friends and artists.

Thanks as usual to the Real Aeroplane Club at Breighton for their welcome and support for our visit.
